# Nongkhai Province attraction.สถานที่เที่ยวในเมืองหนองคาย
Nong Khai is 615 kilometres from Bangkok and has an area of 7,332 square kilometres. Nong Khai is a long thin province running along the Mekong River, providing the main access to Laos. Originally people went by boat from Tha Sadet, but the building of the Friendship Bridge across the Mekong has made
Nong Khai a major centre for transport and trade with Laos.
#Wat Pho Chai (หลวงพ่อพระใส วัดโพธิ์ชัย)

Wat Pho Chai is considered as one of the most sacred place in the town
and is worshiped wholeheartedly by the people of Nong Khai.
This place has one of the most sacred image of Buddha, Luang Phor Phra Sai, situated in it. The head of this imager is made up of pure gold
and the body is made up of bronze and the ornaments are made of ruby.

#Phra That Klang Nam or Pra That NongKhai พระธาตุกลางน้ำหรือพระธาตุหล้าหนอง
According to the legend of Urangkhathat (Phrathat Phanom),
Phrathat Nong Khai was where kept nine pieces of the Lord Buddha’s foot relics.
In 1847, Phrathat Nong Khai collapsed into the Mekong and over the years
the pagoda drifted to the centre of the river where it is seen today.
The underwater survey of the Archaeological Unit Region 7 found that
the pagoda which has an indented square base of 17.2 m. on each side, with around 28.5 m.in height, was broken into three pieces. It was presumed that
the pagoda was built in around the 15th - 17th Century since its form was mostly similar
to Phrathat Bang Phuan.
#SALA KAEW KU (ศาลาแก้วกู่ หรือวัดแขก)
Constructed almost 20 years ago, by Luang Pu Boun Leua Sourirat,
Sala Kaew Ku is one of the most famous and visited site of Nong Khai.
It is a park filled with antique, poise and bizarre figurines of Lord Buddha,
Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and others.
Most of these gigantic sculptures are great relics of Buddhism.
The biggest attraction of this place is
the main building where Luang Pu’s pictures of various stages of his life is portrayed.
#Phra That Bang Phuan พระธาตุบังพวน
Phra That Bang Phuan Being one of the most sacred and historical temple of Nong Khai, Phra That Bang Phuan is famous for its 29 Buddha relics.
This old and ancient temple has no records of its first built relic.
The then king, Lan Xang King Setthathirath had built new relics amidst the old ones,
making it a huge temple, all together.
This temple has a majestic view because
it is secluded from the city realms and is considered very much powerful and mythically active. For tourists who believe in god and also crave for ancient history, this is the perfect place to visit
#Wat Pa Phu Kon วัดป่าภูก้อน อ.นายูง จ.อุดรธานี
Pa Phu Kon Temple is one of the best temples for meditation.
On an area of ??more than 3,000 rai, consisting of the beauty of Buddhist art surrounded by fertile forests,
reclining Buddha, the world-renowned Master Maha Muni
One of them was carved out of Italian Carrara marble. The pagoda is also the relics of the Lord Buddha.

#Wat Pa Tak [Sky Walk] สกายวอร์ค วัดผาตากเสื้อ
The highlight of Wat Pa Tak Suer is the glass skywalk was built over a cliff face overlooking
the Mekong River and the natural scenery. The U-shaped Skywalk is made from stainless steel and laminated glass, is 16 meters long, extends 6 meter out of the cliff and can hold up to 20 people
at a time. If the visitors come here during winter, it is a nice view point of the sea fog and it is also a suitable place for Dhamma practice since it is very peaceful.

#Wang Nam Mok ชุมชนบ้าน วังน้ำมอก ดินแดนสองล้านสองเวียง
WANG Nam Mok Village which is a small homestay village surrounded by beautiful mountains.This waterfall is around 30 meters high and is accessible by car.
the rice have big dinner with all the villagers here.
The big dinner is a tradition of this village to welcome people from other province by serving local dishes.
